Dozens of Real Bats Spotted Flying Around Adventureland-Frontierland Breezeway During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Boo to you, and you, and you! While bats, skeletons, and witches are a common sight around Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom, it seems like the realism has stepped up an extra notch with dozens of real-life bats spotted during the party tonight!

During our visit to this evening’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, our travels took us past the Adventureland-Frontierland breezeway near Pirates of the Caribbean and Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. There, we saw dozens of bats congregating and flying around the breezeway.

To our knowledge, we’ve never seen bats here before, making this a very strange incident. Fitting for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, although still not particularly ideal.

Bats should never be handled with bare hands. The CDC recommends if you are scratched or bitten by a bat to seek immediate medical attention as bats are the largest carrier of rabies in the United States. While most bats are not rabid, it’s not possible to tell by sight alone.

  1. It’s been a few years, but we have video of bats living under the “balcony” over the water behind the Sunshine Tree Terrace / Jungle Navigation Co, so right around the corner!

  2. They fly around the day time too they are just more active at dusk thats anywhere the bat house is near there disney has a few of them! Bats are wonderful pest control and nothing to fear. If you fear em you been to too many scary events as appose to not so scary.

  3. This happened during the Halloween party when I went too! I went at the end of August. Maybe Disney is luring them there for atmosphere??

  4. Disney openly uses a huge population of bats as part of their mosquito control program. They have giant bat houses throughout the property

  5. Saw some today in the same place. I watched them fly out of one of the tops of the buildings in Adventureland near pirates. TONS. Flying under and around for a good 5-10 min. It’s October 5th 2022.
