For the first time in decades, the video that plays in Frontierland’s Pioneer Mercantile at Disneyland Park has been updated. The show video includes clips from various frontier-related Disney media. New to the video is, strangely, “Encanto” and the Muppets.
The video is projected on a screen at one wall of the shop.
We love “Encanto” as much as the next person, but the Colombia-based film seems like an odd choice for the North America-inspired Frontierland. The Muppets also don’t seem appropriate.
Despite the new clips, the projector, hidden in this drum, hasn’t been updated, so the image quality is still low.
Cast Members confirmed that this is a fairly new update for Pioneer Mercantile.
How do you feel about this update? If you love “Encanto,” make sure to also check out our pics and video of Bruno at Oogie Boogie Bash.

Considering the Frontierland shops had a small Hunchback of Notre Dame retheme in the 90s, Encanto fits in just fine 😂
Trash. No continuity what soo ever Walt and Roy would fire this guy..
