Churro Dog on a Stick – $8.99
Korean style fried corn dog tossed in cinnamon sugar
Your mileage may vary on this one. For us, the greasy hot dog and the cinnamon sugar are just not a match.
The batter is nice; it adds a thin coating to the dog and tastes and feels like a pastry batter, working well with the churro topping. But add the dog in, and it goes downhill.
These are two good tastes that do not taste great together. The maggot dog is the clear winner if you want a dipped dog on a stick.
Maggot Covered Cheese Dog – $9.49
Korean style corn dog rolled in puffed rice and topped with gochujang drizzle and black sesame seeds
Not your father’s corn dog! The coating is fantastic, a nice puffy batter reminiscent of funnel cake, rolled in puffed rice for a great crunch.
Tons of cheese inside as well, and it manages to stay melty without getting too runny or leaking out. All of it works great with the hot dog.
The sauce is a little bit of a letdown; it isn’t very flavorful — more like a tangy mayo. That said, this snack doesn’t really need it.
Ghoul Juice ($15.49 with Souvenir glass)
Myers’s Dark rum, Bols cherry brandy, simple syrup, mango nectar, lime juice, Pimento, and Peychaud’s bitters, served over ice
While this drink was sweet, it had a sweet mango flavor. We liked it over some of the other special cocktails available, and definitely recommend trying it for yourself!
