*NEW* Holiday Sandwich – $13.29
Black Forest ham, whole-grain mustard spread, cranberry mayo, and arugula on a stuffing roll served with chips
Who would have thought a ham sandwich could get so dressed up? This brings many of the best flavors of the holidays together in one bite, from the sliced ham to the cranberry mayo.
The mustard spread brings some spiciness and some surprise to the sandwich that we didn’t know we needed. All of these individual ingredients are well done on their own, and bringing them together for this sandwich makes each of them that much better.
Overall, this is one of our favorite sandwiches we’ve had at the festival.
*NEW* Chicken Tortilla Soup – $11.99
with grilled corn, fresh onion, and cilantro topped with crispy tortilla strips and served in a bread bowl
Chicken tortilla soup is one of those dishes that just feels like a warm blanket. It’s comfort food, plain and simple. And this iteration is no different. It’s spicier than we would expect for being in a theme park, but still not overpowering.
The light, crunchy chips on top provide a textual element to the otherwise thick and creamy soup. So creamy, in fact, that it almost feels cheesy. There is a certain spice that we can’t quite put our finger on, but this belies a complexity of spices that bring some mystery and surprise to this soup.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this, and it’s the perfect dish for these cool winter afternoons.
*NEW* Peppermint Bark Bread Pudding – $6.49
White chocolate, chocolate chips, and peppermint with whipped topping and crème anglaise
We have yet to have a bad bread pudding from Pacific Wharf Café, and this one is no different. It’s perfectly balanced in flavor and perfectly soft in texture. The peppermint is definitely present but subdued and not slapping you in the face with mint.
Served warm, the chocolate chips inside are melty and gooey by the time a spoon hits the bread pudding. The crème anglaise, as always, is a delicious complement to this dessert.
