BREAKING: Park Hopping Restrictions Changing at Disneyland Resort in February

Park hopping restrictions will change at Disneyland Resort starting on February 4.

Guests will be able to park hop at 11 a.m. rather than 1 p.m. They must have a Magic Key Pass or valid park hopping ticket and have already tapped in at their reserved park for the day.

Disney has announced that park hopping will be dependent on the capacity of each park, as well as its operating hours, closures, and other limitations. They further note that this ability is not guaranteed, and the times when park hopping is allowed may change without notice. Therefore, it is advised to check the park hopping schedule and the Disneyland app for the most current information prior to visiting another park.

When Disneyland Resort reopened on April 30, 2021, guests weren’t able to park hop right away. They were required to make a reservation for the park they intended to visit in the morning and were not able to park hop until 1:00 p.m. Guests could then move to the other park without making any additional reservations.

Before the outbreak of the pandemic, guests were able to freely move between different theme parks, without any limitations, as long as the park they were visiting was not at full capacity or no other unexpected events occurred.

The ongoing need to make a park reservation and the park hopping restrictions have been a sore spot for many guests. However, there seemed to be a glimmer of hope that change would be coming with the return of Bob Iger as CEO.

During a Town Hall with Cast Members, this past November, Iger discussed a wide-ranging number of topics. During the meeting, he asked about the future of the Disney Park Reservation system. He said he would be discussing it with Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. It seems from this news, it’s possible those discussions have taken place.
