Last month we saw construction go vertical, with elevator shafts taking shape.

The construction has now started to fill in horizontally around those vertical elevator shafts, with what looks to be the exterior front wall of rooms starting to take shape.

You can see that the front wall is beginning to extend even further away from those initial elevator shafts as the building begins to take shape.

Views from these rooms, as you can see, will potentially include Seven Seas Lagoon, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Bay Lake Tower, and even Magic Kingdom attractions like Space Mountain and TRON Lightcycle / Run.

The Spirit of Aloha dinner show closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and never reopened. Disney eventually announced it was permanently closed, and Luau Cove, home to the show, was demolished to make space for the new Disney Vacation Club building.

Barriers in the lagoon beyond the beach prevent debris from floating out into the open water.
You can see in the concept art below for the Disney Vacation Club wing at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort that, eventually, this project will go much taller than the three stories currently under construction.
