Avis France Becomes Official Rental Car Company of Disneyland Paris in New Partnership

For the next five years, car company Avis will be the official car rental company of Disneyland Paris.

Avis will now make its services available to all resort guests of Disneyland Paris. A brand new agency has debuted in Marne la Vallée-Chessy Station, the home of Disneyland Paris, joining other already established agencies across Europe. The new agency for Marne la Vallée-Chessy Station is expected to debut this summer.

The partnership between Avis and Disneyland Paris will “share the same values and commitments including customer satisfaction, high quality service, respect for the environment, and sustainable development.” They will offer a large selection of cars, from modern, hybrid, and electric vehicles.

The newly formed partnership will also bring benefits and discounts for guests with park tickets and those staying on property, including discounts on their car rental. Annual Passholders of Disneyland Paris will be offered an upgrade to join the Avis Preferred Membership.

As part of the deal, Avis can now integrate Disney-owned characters and franchises in their communication campaigns throughout Europe.

Another key point of this partnership is that the Avis brand will now be the sponsor of the beloved Autopia attraction in Disneyland Park. This Disney classic first debuted in Disneyland Resort in California in 1955, and at Disneyland Paris (Euro Disneyland) in 1992.

These are the only remaining Disney Parks with the Autopia name. Other versions of the ride, at Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland, closed down in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World’s version is still operating, but as Tomorrowland Speedway.

The Disneyland Paris version is unique in that the cars have a more 1920s retro-futuristic theming, and it was the only Autopia attraction to feature a storyline. In 2012, however, the storyline was removed, and it was turned into a simple driving track like the one in Disneyland Anaheim.

Laure Albouy, Vice President of Business Strategy & Integration at Disneyland Paris, released a statement on the newly-formed partnership:

“Disneyland Paris is delighted to partner with Avis, a company which holds such history of quality & innovation, and puts customers’ expectations at the heart of everything it does…We believe that combining Disneyland Paris endless storytelling possibilities with Avis’ dedication to ‘trying harder and doing better’, will result in the most magical and efficient services to our guests as soon as they start their journey to Disneyland Paris.”

Pierre-Olivier Bard, who is the General Manager at France Avis Budget Group, also released a statement on the partnership:

“We’re excited about this partnership, which means we are the only car rental company with a location inside of Marne la Vallée — Chessy railway station — at the gates of Disneyland Paris, giving customers easy and convenient access to the Parks. Our premises will be completely renovated to offer the best possible car rental experience and we look forward to welcoming customers.”
