The former location of the pizza stand in Gramercy Park at Universal Studios Florida has been replaced with two new structures, currently behind the construction walls.
New Structure in Gramercy Park
These booths, which are located in the New York area at Universal Studios Florida, originally operated as a pizza stand and had construction walls placed around it in January of 2023. It was rumored that this stand and the nearby popcorn stand were to be demolished, but with no word as to what would be taking their place.
A day after we reported on the construction walls going up, one of the stands had already been removed.
The two food stands that had been a long-standing staple in Gramercy Park vanished from behind the walls. Yesterday, we discovered that, in the place of one of the former booths, a new structure can be seen rising over the top of the construction walls that display various Universal movie posters.
The new building is green, and the roof appears to be made of brown metal. The street-facing side of the building has a peaked front that looks like it may hold a future marquee for the new stand.
Although there has not been a confirmation as to what will be at this location, it is rumored that the stand will reopen with pizza as its main offering. A possible menu could be calzones along with classic pizza.
This new structure in place of the previous pizza stand sits near The Revenge of the Mummy in the New York themed area of the park. The popcorn stand that was also removed sat just across from the pizza booth.
As of today, a new structure has been erected where the popcorn stand once stood. This could very well be a new popcorn stand with the same themed design as the newly constructed building.
These new booths are one of the many projects currently underway to improve the guest experience throughout the parks and create new locations for visitors to enjoy.
Other Construction Projects
These stands in the Gramercy Park area are just one of the many projects that are currently underway at Universal Studios Florida. The report of Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone now permanently closing featured the Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster, and other attractions being closed off with construction walls rising up, and the welcome sign being covered in January of 2023. With the closure of this area the surrounding attractions, dining, and retail outlets remain in operation.
