The Villain-Con Minion Blast sign was updated again at Universal Studios Florida, and new villain posters were added on the side.
Villain-Con Minion Blast Entrance Sign
Just yesterday, we reported that the evil eyes and top part of the globe outline were added to the Villain-Con Minion Blast signage. When we came back to Universal Studios Florida today, we noticed that the rest of the globe outlines were added and signage with the name “Minion Blast” was added. Construction is moving incredibly quick at this point!
Even though the eyes and the white globe outline have been added, there are still more holes, which leads us to believe that more items will be added to the sign.
Villain-Con Villain Banners
We also noticed that individual banners were being put up of the villains from the “Despicable Me” movies. Each banner features not only a picture of each infamous villain but their signature too.
Vector
The first sign is a picture of the villain Vector, who is the main antagonist from the first “Despicable Me” movie. He gets the name Vector from a mathematical term. As he describes in “Despicable Me”, “It’s a mathematical term represented by an arrow with both direction and magnitude…because I commit crimes with both direction and magnitude.”
Balthazar Bratt
Mad Dog McCracken
The third sign is a picture of the villain Mad Dog McCracken. He is one of the villains briefly featured in “Minions.” In the movie, he fails to steal the ruby from Villainess Scarlett Overkill, in order to prove his worthiness as one of her henchmen.
Scarlett Overkill
On the far right, there is a picture of villainess Scarlet Overkill, appropriately placed on a banner that has a scarlet background. She is the main villainess in the “Minions” movie. Her goal was to dominate the world and become the first female supervillain.
Professor Flux
Professor Flux made time travel possible, and he is named after the flux capacitor from Back to the Future in 1985. He makes a brief cameo in “Minions.”
Frankie Fishlips
Frankie Fishlips is a villain that appears in “Minions” and “Minions: The Rise of Gru”. He appears to be inspired by “Gill-Man” from “Creature from the Black Lagoon”.
The opposite side of the show building features a billboard for Villain-Con, saying “it’s that time of year again!”
Construction on this attraction has been moving at such a fast pace that we have been seeing multiple updates pretty much daily at this point. Villain-Con Minion Blast is set to open by Summer 2023.
