Captain Minnie revealed a new adventure-themed outfit that she will be wearing exclusively on the Disney Treasure, a new Disney Cruise Line ship setting sail next year.
The new outfit includes a blue jacket, a red and white polka-dot ascot, a safari hat wrapped in a red and white polka-dot ribbon, khaki pants, and brown shoes.
The video is the first in what will apparently be a series of promotional videos. It shows Minnie receiving a treasure map from an officer of the Disney Wish before she heads to her dressing room to change. Before deciding on her new adventure outfit, Minnie shows off her beachy Castaway Cay outfit, her Alaskan cruise outfit, and her pirate outfit. In her dressing room is her iconic red and white polka-dot dress, decorated with gems in fireworks shapes, and a slim blue dress that she wears for formal night on Disney Cruise Line.
Disney Parks said in their tweet, “Stay tuned to see what happens next…”
Minnie was promoted to captain in 2019 ahead of the launch of the Disney Wish last year. Her captain’s outfit has a similar color scheme to her previous Disney Cruise Line outfit, but with a captain’s hat and white pants. She was the first character other than Mickey to be featured on the medallion image on a Disney Cruise Line ship’s bow, as well as on the lucky coin in the ship’s keel. Mickey and Minnie are considered co-captains of the Disney Wish.
The adventure-themed Disney Treasure is scheduled to set sail in 2024. Its atrium will have a blue and gold color scheme. The golden statue will feature Aladdin and Jasmine riding the Magic Carpet.
With the ship’s atrium and Minnie’s new outfit, it seems Disney Treasure will be a significant departure from the theming of the other Disney Cruise Line ships. The Disney Wish was the first to have a Grand Hall instead of an atrium and is considered a “castle at sea,” but the fantastical, light theming is still relatively similar to previous Disney Cruise Line ships.
