Another piece of decorative 50th anniversary bunting has been removed from Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom.
50th Anniversary Decorations Removed
Yesterday, the Mary Blair 50th anniversary banners were replaced on the towers to the sides of the castle.
Most of the golden EARidescent decorations remain across the front of the castle. The large 50th medallion was the first thing to be removed from over the clock.
The most recent decoration to go is from the west side of the castle. A piece of purple and golden bunting is gone from between two towers.
The Cinderella Castle moat was drained to make removing the 50th anniversary decorations easier. Work has been concentrated on this side of the castle so far, with multiple pieces of bunting removed.

With the 50th anniversary celebration over, the Disney100 celebration is underway.
Disney100 Anniversary Celebration
Across all six parks and on a global scale, Disney is celebrating “100 Years of Wonder.” This celebration is the largest event ever thrown by The Walt Disney Company. The heart of the celebration takes place at Disneyland Resort, as it is “The Place Where it All Began.”
The party kicked off on January 27, 2023. The 100 Years of Wonder celebration is expected to last through July 2024.
In Walt Disney World, Disney100 will mostly be celebrated at EPCOT with Mickey and Minnie in their new platinum outfits. A platinum Mickey sculpture is also to be installed in the park, which will presumably be the same as the one seen at Disneyland. A new Spectacle of Light show will debut on Spaceship Earth and in late 2023, a new Disney100 nighttime spectacular will replace EPCOT Forever. This show was brought back after the end of Harmonious in early April but has only returned as an interim replacement.
In addition, Journey of Water, CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, World Celebration Garden, and Dreamers Point featuring the “Dreamer” statue of Walt Disney are all scheduled to open in late 2023 at EPCOT.
Platinum Disney100 decorations have been installed at the four Walt Disney World theme parks.
Mirabel will have a meet and greet at Magic Kingdom beginning “this fall” in the Fairytale Garden. She will be replacing Merida, and the area will be redesigned to look like the Casita Madrigal.

During the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort, guests can enjoy Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland and World of Color – ONE at Disney California Adventure. Platinum statues of Mickey and Minnie were installed at Disneyland park. Disneyland Resort is also offering the “Celebrating Disney100 at the Disneyland Resort” guided tour, including a walk through both parks, the drawing experience at Animation Academy, a digital download of a photo taken in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, a Disney100 snack, reserved viewing for “Magic Happens” parade, and a limited-edition pin.
