Walls have been erected outside of Avengers Headquarters, giving the first sign of construction for a new merchandise store coming to Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.
As guests assemble in the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure this week, they’ll get the first signs of a new merchandise store coming to the land at Disney California Adventure. The shop has been planned for some time and was originally meant to serve as the exit store for the Avengers E-ticket attraction. As the attraction was delayed, and later canceled, so too was the shop. The space has sat empty with blacked-out windows.
Matching the facade of the larger Avengers Headquarters, the walls that have been erected feature a gray and white striped color theme. A note painted on the door reads: “Avengers Personnel Only.”
Most Avengers Campus merchandise has only been available for guests to peruse inside the Super Store. WEB Suppliers is the only true shop that can be found inside Avengers Campus. The Collector’s Warehouse is the Guardians of the Galaxy store. There’s also the small Campus Supply Pod, a merchandise kiosk outside. The new Avengers Headquarters store will provide much-needed shopping space.
Avengers Campus opened to guests at Disney California Adventure in June 2021. Over the years, we’ve caught glimpses of a potential Avengers attraction for this site in concept art displayed at the Super Store Featuring Avengers Campus. This previously planned E-ticket thrill ride has been canceled, however. Bob Chapek announced at D23 Expo 2022 that they were instead developing a multiverse attraction featuring King Thanos.
Last week, we heard more about the new shop coming to Avengers Campus. An opening date for the new shop inside Avengers Headquarters has not yet been announced.
Avengers Campus
After delays due to COVID-19, Avengers Campus finally opened at Disney California Adventure in June 2021. Another version of the land opened in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris in July 2022.
In California, Avengers Campus was constructed around Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!, a reskin of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror that opened in 2017. WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure is at both versions of the land (known as Spider-Man WEB Adventure in Paris). Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, a retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, is unique to Walt Disney Studios Park.
“Rogers: The Musical” is coming to the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure as a short, one-act performance for a limited time this summer. The teaser video showed a woman dressed much like Peggy Carter heading into the Hyperion Theater with a playbill for “Rogers: The Musical.” The show was first seen in the Disney+ series “Hawkeye.”
Earlier this year, Kang the Conqueror escaped the Quantum Realm from “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and made his way to Avengers Campus for a new character meet-and-greet at Disney California Adventure. Last fall, M’Baku, one of Wakanda’s fiercest warriors, also made his way into Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure to teach “The Way of the Jabari.” Fans of Marvel classics will be happy to know that the Hulk, himself, is also available for meet-and-greet opportunities.
Hong Kong Disneyland has Stark Expo, their own version of a Marvel land, featuring the Iron Man Experience and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle.
