As one anniversary comes to an end, another is just beginning at Walt Disney World! Overnight last night, the 50th Anniversary decor inside the Emporium in the Magic Kingdom was replaced entirely with new Disney100-themed accoutrements. Naturally we visited to take a look!
Disney100 Emporium Decor
Right at the entrance of the Emporium off Main Street, U.S.A., we see a 100 Years of Wonder sign atop a shelf with Disney100 items. The platinum-colored sign sets the mood for how this shop will be decorated.
Behind is another Disney100 sign in purple and silver. Below to the right is a frame with a Cinderella Castle silhouette. To the left and right are 1970s-style Mickey and Minnie Mouse figures wearing their Disney100 attire.
Pluto is pictured in a frame right behind Mickey. More Disney100 merchandise is stocked right below this display.
Above the shop, flags depicting different Disney pals in their Disney100 attire hang. On the left side we see Donald, Goofy, and Chip, all drawn in a more classic art style.
On the right are Daisy, Pluto, and Dale, all also wearing their Disney100 attire. The flags are bordered by a purple banner with silver tassels on the bottom, and a silver banner atop.
Most of this room holds Disney100 merchandise, much of which is branded Walt Disney World and can be read about here in our list of merchandise for the 100 Years of Wonder celebration.
Above the shelves, we also see framed pictures of Disney pals for other merchandise, like this area focusing on Oswald items. On top are Tinker Bell, Goofy, and Daisy all in silver frames. A Disney100 Years of Wonder logo, also framed, sits left of center. The wallpaper showcases purple with silver accents in the colors of the celebration.
Disney100 at Walt Disney World
Most of the celebration will be hosted at EPCOT, but new decor was installed in front of Main Street, U.S.A. Station at the Magic Kingdom this morning.
Walt Disney World has announced monthly themes for its own version of the 100th-anniversary celebration.
As previously announced, Disney100 will be celebrated mostly at EPCOT with Mickey and Minnie in their platinum outfits and a platinum Mickey sculpture. A new Spectacle of Light show will debut on Spaceship Earth and, in late 2023, a new Disney100 nighttime spectacular will premiere to replace “EPCOT Forever,” which returned as an interim replacement following the final performance of “Harmonious” this weekend.
Journey of Water, CommuniCore Hall, World Celebration Garden, and Dreamers Point are all scheduled to open in late 2023 at EPCOT.
Plenty of new Disney100 products are also now available for guests across Walt Disney World, including Disney100 refillable resort mugs, light-up balloons, Disney100 collectible medallions, and Disney100 collectible pressed pennies.
