Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room opened at Disneyland Park in 1963. Tropical Serenade, which was identical aside from the pre-show, was an opening day attraction at Magic Kingdom.
Tropical Serenade closed in 1997 to become The Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management) featuring Iago from “Aladdin” and Zazu from “The Lion King.” Though this version of the show was widely disliked, it remained in place until an attic fire in 2011. The original version of the show was then mostly restored and named Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.
Another identical version of Enchanted Tiki Room was an opening day attraction at Tokyo Disneyland in 1983. In 1999, it became The Enchanted Tiki Room: Now Playing “Get the Fever!” In 2008, this version was replaced again with “The Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents Aloha e Komo Mai!”
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is hosted by four macaws: José, Michael, Pierre, and Fritz. The show is approximately 15 minutes long and has roughly 150 audio-animatronics in use for the production. It features original music by the Sherman Brothers.
