Construction has been quickly progressing on the third Disney Vacation Club building at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in Walt Disney World.

Workers are making rapid progress beginning the foundations for this new Disney Vacation Club tower. Additionally, the first and second expansion structures are nearing completion.

Walls are being erected and the structure is starting to take shape, seen above. A truck mixing cement to pour concrete sits beside the building with various cranes also in position.

More cement trucks remain parked between the Disney Vacation Club buildings, indicating the operation is ready to proceed at a larger scale if desired.

The first building to be built, which is presumably the main building, has been making lots of progress as well. In addition to several stories stacking up, along with observable elevator shafts, we can see balconies taking shape.

This main structure is now roughly ten stories tall at its highest points, which may be around its maximum height.

A construction worker can seen lifted high up, making adjustments to the upper floors. Blue tarps cover many of the windows on the far left side of the building.

The second building is moving along as well. It looks like they’re in the process of adding a few more stories.

Above is the concept art for the entire Disney Vacation Club complex when completed, though designs are always subject to change. The new area of the Polynesian will rest along a beach facing the Seven Seas Lagoon and have a pool of its own.

Be sure to keep checking for more updates as this project moves forward.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been around since 1971, and most recently underwent an extensive refurbishment. While the standard rooms received “Moana” theming, the Disney Vacation Club Studios got “soft goods” refurbishments, meaning only the upholstery, art, and related accompaniments were updated.

The Polynesian also received a new Monorail station and port-cochére. The entrance to the resort was redone to match the new structures.

Kona Café reopened after an extensive refurbishment, with all new seating, decór, and more. The Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area and Lava Pool slide were also recently refurbished. The rugs and most upholstery in the lobby of the Great Ceremonial House were replaced, too.
