A guest jumped out of their ride vehicle during a delay aboard Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT today.

Video footage was posted to Twitter showing the event as it transpired.

Almost immediately after jumping out, an audibly frustrated Cast Member was politely but forcefully telling the guest to return to the vehicle in the interest of safety, as “Conga” by Gloria Estefan continued playing in the background.

Please remain seated…please go back to your vehicle. There will be a Cast Member with you shortly, go back to your vehicle. Woman in tank top, please go back to row two. Please return to your vehicle, a Cast Member will be with you momentarily.

The attraction had been stopped for quite a while, by some reports almost 20 minutes. The guest in question decided to jump out, for reasons which are unclear. After jumping out, the guest in question was unable to return to their vehicle, so they instead stood next to it. It seemed that evacuation was already underway at different points in the attraction as automated announcements were playing overhead.

Cosmic Rewind is an indoor roller coaster at EPCOT, and the first attraction at Walt Disney World to feature characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It notably features a backwards launch and randomized selection of six songs from the 70s and 80s guests could potentially hear during their ride.
