As “Elemental” prepares for a theatrical release next week, merchandise promoting Pixar’s latest animated work is popping up around Walt Disney World. Take a look with us at the offerings below.
‘Elemental’ Hoodie – $59.99
This “Elemental” hoodie was spotted at Fantasia in Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It features Ember Lumen and Wade Ripple, the two main protagonists of the film, embodying fire and water.
With a predominantly black background, the design incorporates red, yellow, and blue, along with teal drawstrings and a teal attachment on the zipper to make zipping and unzipping easier.
‘Elemental’ Limited Release Pin – $17.99
This Limited Release pin features characters representing the four elements and reads “In My Element.” We found this particular one at the Frontier Trading Post in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.
‘In My Element’ Youth Shirt – $24.99
The remainder of the items listed were all found at the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. This youth t-shirt incorporates all four elements, adding earth and air to the mix.
The back of the shirt has no design and remains plain.
Periodic Park Shirt – $39.99
For the adults, this shirt inspired by the upcoming film focuses on the setting: Element City. Here, Periodic Park is depicted, in a poster style, as Lumen and Ripple gaze over the skyline from a bridge.
Like the youth tee mentioned above, this shirt only features artwork on the front.
‘Elemental’ Deluxe Figurine Set – $29.99
The “Elemental” figurine set features various characters from the upcoming film in miniature size, expanding from the water and fire styles of the two main characters we’ve seen previously with its inclusion of individuals who belong to the elements of earth and air — along with some family members.
It is marked as a choking hazard, and not advised to be used by or near children under the age of three.
‘Elemental’ Magnet Set – $14.99
This magnet set comes with four in total, offering two different facial expressions for the two lead characters.
‘Elemental’ Releasing June 16
“Elemental” is the latest Pixar film to arrive in cinemas since 2022’s “Lightyear,” and is directed by Peter Sohn — who previously directed “The Good Dinosaur” and voiced Emile in the 2007 film “Ratatouille.” Pixar’s Twitter page describes this new adventure’s main concept:
In a city where fire, water, land, & air residents live together, a fiery young woman & a go-with-the-flow guy will discover something elemental: How much they have in common. Directed by Peter Sohn and produced by Denise Ream, Disney and Pixar’s Elemental releases June 16, 2023.
In an interview with Variety, Sohn, who also conceived the story, drew parallels between the friction the two main characters have with their families when they begin venturing outside of their own elemental culture with his own personal life as the child of Korean immigrants.
It’s the burden of culture and passing the torch of carrying a piece of heritage inside of you and trying to decide what to do with that heritage. I have kids that come from different, mixed cultures. I’m Korean and my wife is half-Italian, part- German and part-English. The feeling of it can sometimes be like a burden. I wonder if I am I breaking the chain in my life because I’m not pushing the Korean language and culture. And our main character, Ember, even though her culture is fictional, she’s dealing with very similar issues of trying to understand her life in a place that was not her parents’ home.
The official trailer can be viewed below.
Last week, a new pre-show promoting this movie’s release debuted for the “World of Color – ONE” nighttime show at Disney California Adventure.
