Themed printed scrim has gone up around the scaffolding in front of Peter Pan’s Flight and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride at Disneyland Park. The two Fantasyland attractions, as well as the neighboring Alice in Wonderland, are currently closed for refurbishment. All three attractions have been part of Disneyland since the 1950s, and are housed in the same show building.
Peter Pan’s Flight Scrim
Construction walls and scaffolding went up around Peter Pan’s Flight on June 5, the first day of the closure.
Peter Pan’s Flight will be closed through June 29, longer than the other two attractions.
The themed scrim resembles the Bavarian-stylized buildings behind it. It blocks scaffolding from view, but can also provide shade to construction workers.
Themed scrim also surrounds Red Rose Taverne, which remains open during its exterior refurbishment.
The Peter Pan’s Flight scrim even includes a rendition the attraction’s entrance sign.
Disney did not give details about the attraction refurbishments, but they are likely undergoing general maintenance and won’t see any dramatic changes when they reopen. We’ll continue to offer updates if anything changes.
Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride Scrim
Construction walls didn’t go up around Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride as quickly as they did at the other two attractions, though it’s now completely blocked from view.
Alice in Wonderland and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride will be closed through June 16.
The themed scrim includes Mr. Toad’s statue on the Toad Hall façade.
It’s a season of renovation throughout the Disneyland Resort right now, with various closures impacting multiple areas and experiences.
Alice in Wonderland will close again on July 5 and reopen July 21. It is notably the only Alice ride of its kind in the world. All three are classic dark ride experiences, meaning they take guests on a relatively smooth and slow journey through various sets and environments themed to their respective source materials. Peter Pan differs by the fact that the ride vehicle is suspended, rather than on the ground, to help create the sensation of flying.
The Disneyland Monorail will also be closing on July 5, as well as Soarin’ Around the World across the esplanade at Disney California Adventure.
