EPCOT

• The roof of the restrooms on the World Nature side of Spaceship Earth at EPCOT has been damaged and has a temporary patch in place.
• The 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival booths installed a few weeks ago now have signs and more booths have been installed.
• Traveler’s Café at EPCOT, which housed Starbucks before Connections Café opened, has been repainted.
• EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth will be temporarily closed this month for refurbishment, according to the Walt Disney World website.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

• While on a recent trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we noticed that the hand dryers found in the restrooms at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge now have new labels that designate exactly what they are.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• A new Smoked Chimichurri-Braised Beef option has been added to the create-your-own bowl menu at Satu’li Canteen in Pandora – The World of Avatar, and we visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try it for ourselves.

New Merchandise

• Call in the spirits, wherever they’re at! A new glow-in-the-dark Loungefly mini backpack channels the Haunted Mansion’s mystical psychic, Madame Leota.

Other Walt Disney World News

• Former competitors Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer have announced that they will be merging their services into one entity, offering transportation from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World.

Disneyland Resort

• California’s 4th District Court of Appeal ruled that Disneyland Resort has illegally evaded a minimum wage law, which means Cast Members could see a wage increase to nearly $20 an hour.
• Disneyland Resort has officially announced the opening date for San Fransokyo Square, a reimagining of Pacific Wharf at Disney California Adventure.
• With the opening date announcement for San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure, we have more details about the land and a first look at merchandise.
• When San Fransokyo Square opens at Disney California Adventure, guests will be able to interact with Hiro and Baymax from “Big Hero 6.”
• San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure will feature music from EPCOT, as well as from The Happy Ride with Baymax at Tokyo Disneyland.

Hong Kong Disneyland

• Hong Kong Disneyland has revealed some of the refurbished interior of Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, which is reopening this month.

Entertainment and Media

• “Deadpool 3” has stopped filming, just one of many Hollywood production shutdowns, as the SAG-AFTRA strike begins.
• To promote the new “Haunted Mansion” movie, Zillow has a listing to ostensibly purchase the house for the low price of “Your Soul(s).”
• As the SAG-AFTRA strike officially begins, shutting down Hollywood productions, president of the union Fran Drescher responded to Disney CEO Bob Iger’s comments about the strikes.
• More Disney Lorcana cards have been revealed in the past two weeks since our June 2023 roundup.

The Walt Disney Company

• After a hearing on Friday afternoon, Judge Margaret H. Schreiber ruled that she would need more time to make a decision regarding The Walt Disney Company’s motion to dismiss the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board of Supervisor’s lawsuit against them.
• During his appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Thursday, July 13, Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, shared his optimism for the potential future of Disney Parks & Resorts.
