Halloween Horror Nights 2023 kicks off on September 7 at Universal Studios Hollywood, which means we’ll be seeing more and more spooky stuff popping up around the park. We’ve been watching the construction happening on some of the house facades that are visible in the park, so let’s take a look and begin speculating what the themes could be.
Mel’s Diner Halloween Horror Nights House Façade
Not much has changed since our last update for the façade located in the seating area between Mel’s Diner and the Palace Theater, which resembles a brown, crumbling building with sections of exposed brick.
Construction walls still surround the façade, with signs asking guests to “pardon our stardust.”
It is possible that this could be the La Lechuza house, according to the latest speculation map released online by HHNNightmares on Twitter.
Revenge of the Mummy — The Ride Halloween Horror Nights House Façade
The house located by Revenge of the Mummy now has a fairly-detailed façade, which gives more insight into what house is located here.
In this photo, you can see concrete barriers, worn wooden walls, and chain-link fencing. With this being the rumored location for The Last of Us house based on the critically-acclaimed PlayStation video game, the theming makes total sense. It reminds us a lot of the Pittsburgh FEDRA quarantine zone players explore in Chapter Five of the game. Of course, nothing has been confirmed just yet, so this is only speculation.
Halloween Horror Nights 2023 at Universal Studios Hollywood
Halloween Horror Nights 2023 will take place on select nights from September 7 through October 31:

- October 31
At this time, the confirmed haunted houses include Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count, “The Last of Us,” “Stranger Things 4,” “The Exorcist: Believer,” and Universal Monsters: Unmasked.
The full lineup for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida was announced, but the full Universal Studios Hollywood lineup hasn’t been.
