REVIEW: New Slushes and Margaritas from Rita’s Turbine Blenders in San Fransokyo Square

Rita’s Baja Blenders at Disney California Adventure has become Rita’s Turbine Blenders for the new San Fransokyo re-theme of the Pacific Wharf area. With this transformation, some new alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks have been unveiled for us to try.

The margaritas have gotten an update as well.

We have had a lot of frozen slushes or “kid drinks” at theme parks, but these blended versions at Rita’s are probably the best version of that type of beverage that exist at any amusement enterprise. The wild cherry flavor is subtle but offers enough sweetness. The syrup flavoring reminds us of a Cherry Coke.

While not as good as the wild cherry, in our opinion, the blue raspberry has a flavor that may take many of you back to your childhood. This is the flavor most closely associated with those childhood slushes but again, this is an elevated version that is achieved through the blending process. It is much sweeter, but we believe will enthrall those who order it.

The peach gummy rings make things more interesting, and flavor-wise, we feel it is a proper topping.

These are perfect, sweet non-alcoholic beverages for the summer months, and will please not only the young but also the young at heart.

*NEW* Rita’s Lemon-Lime Margarita – $14.50

*NEW* Rita’s Grand Lemon-Lime Margarita – $16.50

Gold tequila and splash of orange liqueur

This is a blended, standard frozen margarita. It is extremely sweet and very strong. We do highly recommend the “grand” over the standard for the added splash of “orange liqueur,” which is likely Gran Marnier. The sticks are essentially Pocky, which don’t really pair with the drinks, but an attempt was made.

This one is even sweeter than the last, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. We personally prefer the strawberry over the lemon-lime, but others enjoyed the lemon-lime more, so it will just depend on your preferences.
