Tokyo Disney Resort will once again have costume changing rooms during “Disney Halloween” this year, but the offering is no longer free.
‘Disney Halloween’ Costume Changing Rooms
Changing rooms were available during the annual Halloween festival prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. These photos of changing rooms at Tokyo DisneySea are from 2019.
“Disney Halloween” will take place from September 15 to October 31 with various special entertainment like the Spooky “Boo!” Parade, The Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare, and a special Halloween greeting on Mediterranean Harbor. Guests will be able to trick or treat and wear costumes (check out the costume guidelines).
The changing rooms will be available beginning on Thursday, September 14, through October 31. There will still be separate changing rooms for men and women.
Rather than being located in the parks, the changing rooms will be in Ikspiari, the shopping center near the Tokyo Disneyland entrance. Guests must make a reservation and pay with credit card in advance for the changing rooms.
In order to make a reservation, guests must have a park ticket for Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea for the same day. Park tickets will be checked at the changing rooms.
Guests can book blocks of 30 minutes or 60 minutes, but they will actually need to be done within 25 minutes or 55 minutes, leaving Cast Members 5 minutes to clean the room.
After booking, you cannot change the time and date. You would need to make a new reservation and cancel the old one. You can cancel and get a refund up to 24 hours before the reservation time.
Guests will receive a confirmation email, which they must bring on their phone or as a print-out.
Use of the changing rooms is not covered by the Ikspiari parking service.
Reservations will open on August 28.
There will be 24 women’s changing booths, 2 men’s changing booths, and one all-gender room. There are no lockers are luggage storage in this space. Ikspiari has separate locker facilities. The use of cameras in the changing rooms is prohibited.
One person accompanied by up to two kids (elementary school age or younger) is allowed in each booth. Most of the booths are 120 cm x 180 cm, while the all-gender booth is 230 cm x 300 cm. One caregiver who is not changing is allowed in the all-gender booth.
Some of the booths have electrical outlets, as marked on the diagram above. Equipment up to 1500W, like a hair dryer, can be used. Each booth has a full-length mirror. There are no tables or chairs.
Here is the list of pricing:
- Men’s or women’s room with outlet: 30 minutes for 600 yen
- Men’s or women’s room with no outlet: 30 minutes for 500 yen
- All-gender room with no outlet: 30 minutes for 500 yen
The changing rooms will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day, with the final entry at 9:30 a.m.
