She may have left the Jedi Order, but she’s arrived in Batuu — Ahsoka Tano made her debut at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland on Wednesday, August 23, in conjunction with the two-episode premiere of “Ahsoka” on Disney+

Disney Parks announced late last week that Ahsoka would start meeting guests at Black Spire Outpost alongside the premiere of the new streaming series. The new show following the former padawan of Anakin Skywalker debuted on Disney+ on the evening of Tuesday, August 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.

Though this is the first time that Ahsoka has appeared at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the character has appeared at Disney Parks before. The young version of Ahsoka as seen in the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” series was featured as part of the “Star Wars Weekends” events that previously took place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort, even appearing in the Hyperspace Hoopla stage performance.

Ahsoka-centric merchandise has long been available at Disney Parks; in late 2022, a headband that combined Mickey Mouse ears with Ahsoka’s iconic lekku (her three head-tails) was introduced at The Star Trader in Tomorrowland at Disneyland. Her lightsabers have long been available in heavy-duty legacy form at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and they recently received a more approachable toy alternative.

Characters from the same part of the Star Wars universe that Ahsoka currently inhabits have appeared at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in the past, as well. While the entire Star Wars galaxy is connected, the Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau-created series’ currently being produced for Disney+ explore one specific era and section of the universe. This exploration started with the 2019 debut of “The Mandalorian,” a Disney+ launch season that ultimately led to characters like Ahsoka and Boba Fett receiving their own programs. Din Djarin, the series’ titular Mandalorian, made his debut alongside Grogu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland in November of 2022.

“Ahsoka” stars Rosario Dawson as the titular Togruta. A spiritual (and, in a lot of ways, literal) sequel to the “Star Wars Rebels” animated program that aired on Disney XD from 2014–2018), “Ahsoka” follows the character as she enlists the aid of Sabine Wren (portrayed by Natasha Liu Bordizzo) to find Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), a Jedi who disappeared to the mysterious “world between worlds” in the “Star Wars Rebels” finale. Potentially trapped alongside Ezra is Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), a former Imperial official who, too, has seekers, and they yearn to see the now-fallen Empire regain control of the galaxy.
