As “The Princess and the Frog” continues to increase its presence at Disneyland Park with the ongoing construction of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the upcoming opening of the Tiana’s Palace quick-service restaurant, a piece of apparel celebrating the film’s protagonist has been added to the park. A tie-dye Princess Tiana Spirit Jersey is available for purchase at Disneyland.
Tiana Spirit Jersey – $79.99
We found the Tiana Spirit Jersey at Disney Clothiers, located on Main Street, U.S.A.
The spirit jersey features a tie-dye pattern that combines two different shades of green. Printed on the front of the shirt are the dark green outlines of two water lilies, which are a recurring image in the 2009 animated feature (even appearing on Tiana’s wedding crown). Princess Tiana’s name is written in cursive beneath the larger lily.
An illustration of Tiana in the same dark green color appears on the back of the spirit jersey. She’s surrounded by more water lilies and additional plants, and a fleur-de-lis — an icon frequently associated with New Orleans and French culture — is also present. The quote “Love what you do… do what you love” is printed in the same cursive font in which her name is written, perhaps a reference to the character’s love for cooking and the opening of her restaurant at the end of the film.
This spirit jersey was first introduced in mid-July, initially appearing on the shopDisney website. We first found it at a Disney resort later that month when we spotted the spirit jersey at Jackson Square Gifts & Desires, the shop in the main building of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter at Walt Disney World Resort.
“The Princess and the Frog” at Disneyland
Tiana will soon have a more prominent presence at Disneyland with the opening of Tiana’s Palace, a quick-service restaurant opening in New Orleans Square on September 7. Inspired by the restaurant that Tiana and Prince Naveen open at the end of “The Princess and the Frog,” Tiana’s Palace will offer “southern meal[s] inspired by Creole and Cajun cuisine.” Disneyland Resort recently unveiled the restaurant’s entire menu with prices, additionally releasing a set of photos offering a first look at Tiana’s Palace’s decor. Tiana’s Palace replaces the French Market Restaurant.
Tiana’s Palace will soon be joined by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, an attraction that picks up after the events of “The Princess and the Frog” and will allow guests to join Tiana, Naveen, Louis the singing alligator, and several other characters as they prepare for Mardi Gras.
The ride will see the return of many voice performers from the original film and feature queue and attraction music arranged by award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard. Construction on the attraction continues at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom; both versions of the ride replace Splash Mountain and are expected to open at some point in 2024.
