A new Pandora charm depicting everybody’s favorite flying elephant has recently landed at Walt Disney World Resort. The Pandora Dumbo charm is the latest in a collaborative line celebrating Disney100, the company’s centennial anniversary.
Dumbo Disney100 Pandora Charm – $200
We found this charm at Uptown Jewelers on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. It’s also available at Legends of Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
All of the dangle charms produced for Disney and Pandora’s Disney100 collaboration have contained a combination of sterling silver and 14K gold, and the Dumbo charm is no exception. Dumbo’s head, body, and flapping ears are made of silver while his hat is made of 14K gold. He’s holding a lab-created diamond in his trunk.
“Disney100” is engraved on the back of Dumbo’s head, with “Pandora” and “Disney” engraved along the edges of his ears.
Released in 1941, “Dumbo” was the fourth movie released by what is today known as Walt Disney Animation Studios. It’s an iconic film in the studio’s decorated canon and serves as the inspiration for Dumbo the Flying Elephant, a ride at Disney Parks around the globe that has become synonymous with the company.
Disney100 Pandora Charms
The Disney and Pandora collaboration for Disney100 was introduced in January of this year with a commemorative jewelry holder and a dangle charm depicting Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt Disney’s initial cartoon protagonist that The Walt Disney Company regained the rights to in 2006. The jewelry box contains a central cutout and eight surrounding holes, areas designed to hold a base sterling bracelet and each charm created for the Disney100 collaboration.
Several dangle charms have already been revealed, with Dumbo joining a list that also includes the aforementioned Oswald, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Simba, and Cinderella’s Enchanted Carriage. The Baloo charm, one of the more recent additions to the lineup, was made available at Uptown Jewelers in July.
Disney and Pandora Collaborations
Disney and Pandora are frequent collaborators, as the Danish jewelry manufacturer has produced several pieces of Disney-inspired jewelry in the past. Coinciding with the launch of the Dumbo Disney100 Pandora charm is the debut of a new line inspired by “Monsters, Inc.,” a Pixar film that released in 2001. Mike Wazowski, Boo’s door, and the “Monsters, Inc.” logo are just a few of the charms available as part of the set.
It’s not just Disney proper characters that are depicted on Pandora charms, as the company has released “Marvel” and “Star Wars”-inspired jewelry in the past. Disney Parks have even been represented, as Pandora produced an official charm set for the 2023 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. This came after the company made a charm celebrating EPCOT’s 40th anniversary in 2022.
The past collaborations between the two companies are bountiful, and you can read more about them here.
