‘Encanto’ Character Banners, Family Tree, More Decorations Added to Mirabel Meet and Greet at Magic Kingdom

The first “Encanto” decorations have been added to Fairytale Garden in Magic Kingdom, where a Mirabel meet and greet will open later this month. The space is being transformed into Casita Madrigal after the Merida meet and greet moved in July.

A blue and green striped shade covers Fairytale Garden again. Plants with pink flowers spill over the tops of the stone walls.

Above the stage, where the silver medallion of Clan Dunbroch previously hung, is a pair of bright blue shutters in a pink frame.

To the side, a banner for Mirabel’s mother, Julieta, hangs.

We also spotted a banner for Mirabel’s youngest cousin, Antonio. These banners resemble the family member’s magical bedroom doors.

The Madrigal family tree, featuring the entire family except Bruno, hangs in a pink frame on the wall of the meet and greet queue’s ramp.

Green construction walls and scrim remain around Fairytale Garden.

The Mirabel meet and greet is scheduled to open on September 15, in just two days.

On the same day, Mirabel’s uncle Bruno will join the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade. The cavalcade debuted in February 2022 and Mirabel joined it later that summer. It’s possible Bruno will be taking Mirabel’s place now that she has a meet and greet, or will just join her on the float.

Mirabel has appeared at Disneyland Resort multiple times at both parks. See her in Frontierland below.

Bruno also appeared at Disneyland Resort during Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure last year.

The Mirabel meet and greet was added to the Walt Disney World website with a picture from Mirabel’s 2021 Disney California Adventure appearance, implying the theming of Fairytale Garden will be similar.

Walt Disney World recently placed a casting call for Mirabel’s older sister, Luisa.

After having an initially modest box office showing following its November 2021 release, “Encanto” became a smash hit for Disney when it debuted on the Disney+ streaming service during that year’s holiday season.

An “Encanto” bus wrap debuted at Walt Disney World in late 2022, and it was recently announced that some of the gondolas on the Disney Skyliner will soon adopt “Encanto” theming.

The movie’s presence could increase even further in coming years — during Destination D23 2023, Disney announced that Walt Disney Imagineering is currently developing a potential Tropical Americas-themed replacement of Dinoland U.S.A. featuring “Encanto” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

An “Encanto” photo op recently appeared at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, too.
