The Villas at Disneyland Hotel has opened today, September 28. The new Disney Vacation Club property is in Discovery Tower at Disneyland Hotel. We’re at Disneyland Resort to check out the villas and have a first look at the opening weekend materials and updated hotel map.
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel Opening Weekend
At check-in, we received a special opening weekend brochure and a Key to the World card. The card features the golden silhouette of Tinker Bell.
We picked up an updated map of the Disneyland Hotel that now includes The Villas and Discovery Tower.
The four guest room towers are Fantasy Tower, Adventure Tower, Frontier Tower, and now Discovery Tower. Fantasy, Adventure, and Frontier are all derived from the names of the original Disneyland lands. “Tomorrow Tower” would have been an odd name, so Disney opted for Discovery Tower. The Disneyland Paris version of Tomorrowland is named Discoveryland.
On the map, you’ll see the typeset logo for The Villas at Disneyland Hotel and Disney Vacation Club over the new tower.
The other side of the map gives an overall view of Disneyland Resort hotels and Downtown Disney District, with logos at the locations of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland Hotel is blue on the overall map. The Disneyland Monorail line is also shown in purple and roads are in gray.
A preview center for the new accommodations opened in May 2023. A grand opening celebration will be livestreamed at this link at 10:30 a.m. PDT / 1:30 p.m. EDT today. Open house previews will take place from September 29 through October 1.
The 12-story tower has 340 accommodations, including duo studios, deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and three-bedroom grand villas. The rooms are inspired by different Walt Disney Animation Studios films. Imagineers drew inspiration from sketches, concept art, story cels, and color maps.
Disney states The Villas at Disneyland Hotel “celebrates the magic of creativity and storytelling like never before through contemporary designs and carefully curated pieces inspired by Disney Legends.”
