Last night was the first night of Oogie Boogie Bash for 2023, and everyone’s favorite spooky Disney characters and villains made an appearance in the Frightfully Fun Parade in Disney California Adventure.
Frightfully Fun Parade at Oogie Boogie Bash
The Frightfully Fun Parade begins with Ichabod Crane, as he skittishly runs about the parade route.
Crane cowers in fear, as the Headless Horseman is on his way.
It’s not a Halloween parade without the Headless Horseman, who rides atop a real horse, Jack-o’-lantern head in hand.
Behind them are Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween costumes, along with dancers dressed as vampires and witches.
Mickey Mouse is dressed as a vampire in a most dapper top hat and suit with a cape, while Minnie is wearing a witch costume.
The pair lead the title float for the Frightfully Fun Parade, which features playful imagery of ghosts, spiders, and Mickey Jack-o’-lanterns.
First up after the title float is the Mayor of Halloween Town from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Riding in his car, the Mayor’s head spins around, from happy to upset, as he travels down the route.
A few of Halloween Town’s local vampires trial behind.
Next up is Jack and Sally, sharing a float together as they enjoy the Halloween fun.
Zero is also there, floating beside his gravestone.
His Jack-o’-lantern nose even glows!
Following Jack and Sally are the Haunted Mansion ballroom dancers.
Riding the Haunted Mansion float, as always, are the three Hitchhiking Ghosts — Ezra, Gus, and Phineas.
A look at the side of the mini Mansion reveals the dancers inside through a “window.”
A glowing mausoleum stone reads “Memento Mori” just below.
Constance Hatchaway stands among the gravestones in the back.
Following them are the gravediggers, shovels in hand.
Spooky stilt-walkers follow, towering over guests sitting along the parade route.
Dr. Facilier heads up the final unit in the parade, featuring all your favorite Disney villains.
His float features an overgrown bayou look, with his “friends from the other side” in tow.
The back of his float has spinning tarot cards attached, featuring the cards he pulls for Naveen in “The Princess and the Frog.”
Up next is a walking group of Disney villains, led by Ursula herself.
The next group that passes by includes Lady Tremaine and her daughters, Anastasia and Drizella, as well as the Queen of Hearts.
Captain Hook is also there, ready for Halloween.
Behind them are Claude Frollo and Jafar.
The final float of the night includes a last handful of Disney villains, with Cruella at the front.
Behind her is the coolest guy in the Underworld, Hades.
The Evil Queen from Snow White is working away on her latest spell at a bubbling cauldron.
Maleficent’s Dragon form towers behind her, in statue form.
At the very end is the Cheshire Cat, ready to share a smile as the parade comes to an end.
