New Photo Op for Toy Story Funday Football Available at Disneyland Resort

Ahead of this weekend’s special Toy Story Funday Football game, which will be animated in real time to put both teams in the world of “Toy Story,” a new photo op for the television event has appeared at Disneyland Resort. Both the animated and non-animated games will air this Sunday, October 1 at 9:30 a.m. ET/6:30 a.m. PT.

We found it just outside the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure.

The photo op is located just outside Mickey & Friends, and guests can walk up to it freely and take photos.

The photo op is designed to look like Andy’s room, and includes various props of toys, books, Woody and Buzz, helmets for the Atlanta Falcons and the Jacksonville Jaguars, who will be playing in the game.

There’s even a Luxo Ball-decorated football at the center of the display.

The first Funday Football will see both teams animated in real time as though they are toys in Andy’s room, playing a game of football as the real-life events unfold. Woody, Buzz, and more “Toy Story” characters will also be present throughout the game, as they participate from the sidelines and other non-gameplay elements of the telecast.

According to the ESPN announcement video, the game itself will be transformed live and air on both of the streaming services. The regular, non-animated, live-action game will also air on ESPN+.

The entire process is enabled by the NFL’s Next Gen Stats player tracking data, according to ESPN. The animated game will also include a special halftime show featuring Duke Caboom from “Toy Story 4,” performing his famous motorcycle jump.

Tune in for the unique experience when it airs this weekend on Disney+ and ESPN+.
