Disney shared a look inside the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris as it undergoes renovations. The company shared the video during the “A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” panel at Destination D23 on Saturday, August 9, 2023.
Disney Shares Look at Disneyland Hotel Renovations
Set designer Thomas Muller described the renovation as a “royal transformation.” The hotel will transport guests into the world of many royal Disney characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios films, with rooms rethemed to various Disney Princesses.
The company shared looks at the work in progress in the lobby.
Muller also talked about the Royal Banquet Restaurant, describing it as a “grand reception hall with four different rooms, each of them celebrating one different aspect of royalty.”
He shared that the restaurant will be celebrating Disney films such as “The Princess and the Frog,” “Robin Hood,” and “The Emperor’s New Groove.”
Concept art for finalized renovations was also shared. As with all concept art, the designs are not necessarily completely reflective of what the final product will be. Above is a previously-shared look at the hotel’s upstairs lobby, which was released earlier this year.
Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris is scheduled to reopen in the first quarter of 2024, meaning sometime between January and March. The exact reopening date of the Disneyland Hotel and more information will be released when bookings open on September 12.
The ‘Reimaigned’ Disneyland Hotel
We got our first look at the new Cast Member costumes for the hotel earlier this month. A total of 14 new outfits have been designed, including four different types of neck accessories, two hats, and three models of belt pockets. Cast Members will wear one of three types of costumes depending on their profession group: front desk, concierge desk, and shops; room service; and restaurants and bars. This allows for guests to more easily identify their roles.
Concept art has also been previously shared detailing the changes coming to the Inventions and California Grill restaurants in the hotel.
We also got concept art of the “Beauty and the Beast” themed lobby back in February of this year. You can read more about it here.
The films represented at the hotel will include “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Aladdin,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Cinderella,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Princess and the Frog,” and more recent titles like “Frozen,” “Moana,” and “Raya and the Last Dragon.” Above is concept art of one of the hotel rooms themed to “Frozen.”
