VIDEO: Walk Through The New World of Frozen Expansion at Hong Kong Disneyland

Guests will soon be able to immerse themselves in the Kingdom of Arendelle, as the new World of Frozen expansion at Hong Kong Disneyland is set to unfreeze its gates on November 20, 2023. Representatives and executives recently shared an in-depth look at the new “Frozen”-inspired land in celebration of the 18th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland, and local media were able to get a sneak peek of the expansion; Disney Magical Kingdom Blog posted a full walkthrough of the outdoor areas of the new offering on YouTube.

The video showcases the numerous themed decorations and intricately detailed building facades around World of Frozen. You can watch the full four-minute walkthrough above.

The first feature detailed is the Friendship Fountain, a large water fountain that features a frozen snowflake as its visual centerpiece.

The video then shows the facades of the Northern Delights confectionery shop, the Arendelle Daily Press (a fictional newspaper referenced in an earlier promotional video) building, and the Golden Crocus Inn, the land’s primary dining option.

Theming around the Bayside Wharf area is then displayed, leading to a full view of Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs. The attraction is a roller coaster through the mountains surrounding Arendelle. Guests will enter through Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post (and Sauna), and we sure hope Oaken is having a big summer blowout sale.

Focus then shifts to the Frozen Ever After attraction, which resides in an extravagant clock tower complete with Elsa and Anna dolls. This attraction is the same ride that debuted in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT in 2016, but unlike its EPCOT counterpart, will house non-screen-faced animatronics.

The land’s other buildings and features, including its depictions of Arendelle Castle, the North Mountain, and Elsa’s Ice Palace, are also showcased in the video.

In addition to Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs and Frozen Ever After, World of Frozen will contain Playhouse in the Woods, an interactive experience for children to celebrate “Summer Snow Day.” Cast Members in the land will be dressed in apparel inspired by outfits worn by background and minor characters in “Frozen,” while a package that offers specialty “Frozen” decor and merchandise will be offered at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel.

World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland will be the first of (as of now) three “Frozen”-themed lands to open across Disney’s global parks. The under-construction Fantasy Springs expansion of Tokyo DisneySea will feature a “Frozen”-inspired section, and a version of World of Frozen (titled Arendelle: World of Frozen) is currently being built at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. Fantasy Springs is set to open in 2024, while Arendelle: World of Frozen at Walt Disney Studios Park has not been given an opening timeframe.

The World of Frozen expansion is part of a years-long collaboration between The Walt Disney Company and the Hong Kong Government that saw nearly HK$11 billion (over $1 billion USD) committed to the expansion of Hong Kong Disneyland. Its version of Avengers Campus opened a few years ago as part of the expansion and will see further additions next year.
