New “Avatar: The Way of Water” merchandise recently washed ashore at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
We recently spotted a Spirit Jersey and bucket hat released as part of a new film-inspired collection at Island Mercantile; the collection also includes a Loungefly crossbody bag and a stainless steel Corkcicle canteen, but these items are not yet at the park.
Spirit Jersey – $84.99
The new Spirit Jersey is primarily covered in a light blue, purple, and white tie-dye pattern. An overhead image from “Avatar: The Way of Water” loops around the shirt, appearing across its chest, lower back, and hem areas. The image showcases the crystal clear waters of Pandora, the planet on which the vast majority of the franchise takes place. The fictional planet serves as the inspiration for Pandora — The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which opened in 2017.
A puffy yellow “Avatar” logo is raised over the left breast. The logo features the franchise’s wordmark and a large “A;” the letter’s crossbar has been replaced with a banshee.
A navy blue tag featuring the franchise’s logo is stitched on the left side of the hem. A Spirit Jersey tag is attached to the side of the shirt.
The tie-dye pattern covers most of the back of the Spirit Jersey, with the image from the film taking up a small section of the lower back.
We see two Na’vi (presumably Lo’ak and Tsireya) traversing through the clear water.
The “Avatar” wordmark again appears across the top of the back. It’s in the same shade of yellow as the stacked logo on the chest.

Bucket Hat – $39.99
The bucket hat borrows several motifs and design elements from the Spirit Jersey. The light blue, purple, and white tie-dye pattern engulfs the top of the hat and its brim.
The same overhead image of the Pandora ocean seen on the Spirit Jersey is screen-printed around the circumference of the hat. The swimming Na’Vi are not visible.
The puffy yellow “Avatar” logo is raised against the circumference of the hat and is flanked by the same navy blue “Avatar” and Spirit Jersey tags seen on the Spirit Jersey.
The inside of the hat features a white lining.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water’
“Avatar: The Way of Water” was released domestically on December 16, 2022. A sequel to 2009’s “Avatar,” the 20th Century Studios picture was one of the most expensive films ever produced and reportedly needed to earn $2 billion at the worldwide box office to break even. The film accomplished that feat in January 2023, passing the $2 billion mark en route to becoming the third-highest-grossing movie ever released.
