On our most recent trip to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World, we noticed that the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Tower has nearly reached a new construction milestone, as almost all sliding glass doors have been installed.

The view from our boat ride on Seven Seas Lagoon shows that most of the clear sliding glass door paneling has been installed on the back side of the future DVC tower.

Crew members are at work in cranes installing the glass paneling on each level of the tower.

Both metal and wood railings have been added to different levels of the tower, and construction workers are hauling various pieces of equipment to the interior of the building for additional construction.

Plywood has been added to the third and fourth levels on a section of the right portion of the tower.

Installation of the glass paneling has begun on the left side of the DVC tower with two panels installed on the third level, along with temporary railings for the crew members working inside.

Construction for the new Disney Vacation Club tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is projected to be complete and open to the public in late 2024.

The announcement of the Disney Vacation Club tower came in March of 2022 with the new addition to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort set to be a more contemporary aesthetic to the Polynesian Resort that opened alongside Walt Disney World in October 1971. The concept art below which was shown at the time of the announcement may not completely reflect the final appearance of the DVC upon its completion.

Foundational work on the DVC tower began in late 2022 with the project going vertical in early 2023. With significant progress made since the start of construction, the DVC tower is still set to open in late 2024. The new DVC tower will sit on the edge of the Seven Seas Lagoon and feature its own beach and pool area.
