Guests walking the bustling streets of the New York area of Universal Studios Florida can once again get their caffeine fix, as the park’s permanent Starbucks location has reopened following a multi-month refurbishment.
Construction walls first went up around the location in early July, and guests were forced to get their coffee, cake pops, and other Starbucks favorites at the temporary Starbucks location in Cafe La Bamba in the Hollywood section of the park. All walls are gone and the permanent location is again open as of October 19.
Starbucks Reopens with Remodeled Interior at Universal Studios Florida
No significant changes have been made to the façade of the Starbucks location, as the corner building has maintained its primarily white and palish green colorway. Substantial alterations have been made to the interior of the cafe, however, with the layout and general décor being two of the more prominent updates.
The walls are now a single shade of green; previously, a gray divider placed halfway up the wall separated the green upper half from the beige lower half. The dark tile baseboard remains unaltered.
A white standing counter was previously present to the right upon immediate entry, but that has been removed.
Wooden paneling now adorns the back wall and stretches above the front counter, which, too, has been updated with new white countertops and “Starbucks green” beadboard paneling.
The location’s previous printed menus above the counter have been replaced with digital menus.
A rearranged queue has opened up the floorplan and created more space in the cafe.
Guests can pick up a branded tumbler, water bottle, or snack as they work through the line, and more tumblers are available on a shelf in front of a nearby wood-paneled wall.
The ceiling lights have also been replaced, as the previously-present light fixtures have been replaced with track lights. An abstract gold-colored fixture now hangs over the pick-up area of the counter.
The wall art is black and white and features people working with coffee beans.
