It’s not easy being green, and it’s certainly not easy to get your hands on the new Kermit the Frog merchandise that has hopped its way into Walt Disney World Resort.
We recently found a new Kermit the Frog cookie jar at World of Disney at Disney Springs and new Kermit accessories at Hundred Acre Goods in the Fantasyland section of Magic Kingdom, but you may want to act fast, as the new items are selling quickly.
Kermit the Frog Cookie Jar – $39.99
The sculpted ceramic jar depicts the host of “The Muppet Show” with his iconic smile across his face. His green head, complete with his red mouth, pink tongue, and halved ping-pong ball eyes, serves as the actual jar, while his green neck acts as its base. His yellowish-green collar appears around his neck.
His grinning mouth creates a rather large indentation within the jar, but it doesn’t overly detract from the storage space. The white interior of the jar is quite spacious and can store several cookies at any given time.
The top of the jar blends in with the rest of the head, with an indentation at the head’s slightly pointed peak serving as the lid’s handle.
A Cast Member told us that the store had just two jars remaining at the time of our visit.
The new Kermit the Frog cookie jar is part of a new Kermit collection that was released on shopDisney on October 20; the jar is also available on the site for $39.99. The new line also includes a Kermit the Frog t-shirt, pullover hoodie, backpack, and Crocs, among other items; we spotted some of the new merchandise at DisneyStyle at Disney Springs last month, while the new line hopped into Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure in early October.
Kermit the Frog Watch – $39.99
Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow… Kermit the Frog watch, and that day is today. This new watch features a rainbow canvas strap that’s worked into the watch face as a backdrop.
A silver buckle is attached to one end of the strap.
Kermit appears front and center on the watch’s centerpiece, standing in front of the rainbow with his banjo. The clock hands, case, and lugs are dark green. The crown and hour indicators are silver.
Kermit the Frog Earrings – $29.99
The rainbow motif is replicated on the earrings, as the thick hoops feature a rainbow pattern. Kermit’s head hangs as a dangle charm from each hoop.
The Muppets at Walt Disney World
Kermit the Frog and the Muppets, in general, have had a permanent presence at Walt Disney World Resort since the opening of Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 1991. The show was directed by Jim Henson and was one of the last projects the iconic puppeteer worked on before his death in 1990. New projection mapping effects were added to the attraction earlier this month, you can check them out below:
The Muppets’ representation at Walt Disney World Resort has (very) slowly grown since The Walt Disney Company acquired the brand in 2004. A live show titled “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” debuted in the Liberty Square section of Magic Kingdom in 2016 but closed in late 2019.
PizzeRizzo, a quick-service restaurant inspired by Rizzo the Rat, opened near Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2016. The Liberty Inn dining location in The American Adventure at EPCOT received a Sam the Eagle-inspired overhaul in 2020 when it became Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue Restaurant.
The Muppets Mobile Lab, a free-roaming audio-animatronic featuring Dr. Benson Honeydew and Beaker, has been tested at EPCOT in the past. The two characters currently appear at the park (in video form) in the Odyssey Pavilion as hosts of the Brew-Wing Lab, a booth offered as part of the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
Kermit and Miss Piggy will host a show at the Theater of the Stars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during offerings of Disney Jollywood Nights, a holiday party that will run on select nights from November 11 through December 20.
