With spooky season still in full effect at Universal Studios Florida thanks to the ongoing Halloween Horror Nights 32 event (scheduled to conclude on November 4), Universal Islands of Adventure has rung in the holiday season with festive new garland, wreaths, and ornaments. We spotted the recently installed holiday decorations in the Port of Entry section of the park on October 23.
Holiday Decorations Installed at Universal Islands of Adventure
Port of Entry is the first land that guests traverse at Universal Islands of Adventure, assuming they enter through the primary entryway. It’s one of three areas at Universal Islands of Adventure that receives exterior holiday decor, the others being Seuss Landing and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade; as of October 23, Port of Entry is the only land with festive decorations present.
The decorations are largely the same as they’ve been in years past, and their installation timeline is largely consistent. We first noticed holiday decor in the Port of Entry area of Universal Islands of Adventure last year on October 19.
Garland lined with primarily copper and gold-colored ornaments has been applied to the canopy at the front entrance of the park.
The ornaments are primarily ball-shaped, with a few other decorations depicting popular Christmas iconography also present. Gold reindeer and several different types of jingle bells appear intermittently throughout the garland.
Garland has also been wrapped around the Defotos Expedition Photography gift shop and across the balcony of its supporting building.
Garland lined with silver, blue, and gold ornaments is arched over the shop’s primary entryway and is draped over its themed roof. A wreath hangs from the front of the awning over the shop’s entrance.
The ornaments are again primarily ball-shaped, though there are a few golden stars and silver plant-like decorations.
Festive garland hangs over the Port of Entry archway that reads “The Adventure Begins.” The decoration has also been wrapped around several lampposts around the land.
The bathrooms near the park exit have also been adorned with holiday garlands. The decor features red and gold ornaments and is applied across the building’s balconies.
Red and white snowflake ornaments appear beneath the garland on both balconies.
The VIP building near the bathrooms has also received a slight holiday makeover.
The holiday season is slowly blossoming at Universal Orlando Resort, as a new collection of merchandise featuring Earl the Squirrel and his unnamed female squirrel friend recently landed at the Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe at Universal Islands of Adventure. New Grinchmas merchandise debuted in the Suess Landing section of the park earlier this month.
