Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort aren’t the only places you can find special Disney gingerbread houses. Disney Cruise Line also celebrates with gingerbread houses at sea! If you take a Very Merrytime Cruise on the Disney Magic this season, you’ll see this almost life-size gingerbread house.
Disney Magic Gingerbread House
The house is on one side of the Magic’s atrium, with a short white fence around it to keep guests from nibbling on the display. The fence is decorated with garlands and there are pots of poinsettias in the gingerbread house’s garden.
A nearby sign says the gingerbread house took approximately 220 hours to develop and complete. The ship’s carpenters created the framework while the pastry and bakery team baked gingerbread cookies. The house is made of 500 pounds of gingerbread dough, 2,500 gingerbread bricks on the walls, an additional 1,500 gingerbread bricks on the roof, and 120 pounds of icing sugar.
The house has a front porch with string lights around its columns and railings. Various props are on the porch and in the windows.
Stitch and Sven plush are looking out of one of the front windows.
There are retro mice plush on the porch.
Chip and Dale are on a light-up reindeer figure outside. Through a bay window, we could see Mickey and Minnie.
There are also light-up snowmen, polar bears, and presents. The exterior decorations sit on a white blanket of “snow.”
The house is lit from the inside, and there are lights and illuminated decorations on the exterior.
At Walt Disney World Resort, guests can visit the Victorian-style gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure-inspired gingerbread carousel at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, the Disney100 castle at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and the gingerbread lighthouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and EPCOT will also have gingerbread displays.
