Ahead of the start of Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this weekend, Christmas decorations are going up at the park. Christmas stars were installed on Sunset Boulevard first. Now the Christmas tree has returned to Echo Lake and Gertie the dinosaur is in the holiday spirit with her hat and ornament.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Christmas Tree
The tree sits on an island in the middle of the lake, surrounded by hedges and poinsettias.
It’s wrapped in silver garland with sparkling gold stars.
A larger silver star sits on top of the tree.
Between the lengths of the garland are retro ornaments, including traditional colorful orbs and Santa Claus faces.
There are also candy canes with bows wrapped around them.
Giant ornaments now appear to float in Echo Lake. The ornaments are actually secured with tethers underwater.
Santa Gertie
On the other side of Echo Lake, Gertie the dinosaur is now wearing a Santa hat.
A large golden ornament hangs from her mouth.
More Echo Lake Christmas Decorations
The family of pink poodle figures with their holly bows are back in this planter near Echo Lake.
Silver garland wrap around lampposts, holding large medallions featuring retro Christmas artwork.
The artwork depicts a deer, bells, and Santa Claus.
There are also a few prancing, dancing reindeer figures in the area.
The green Echo Lake umbrellas have been turned into Christmas trees with ornament decals and silver garlands.
Hollywood Boulevard Decorations
In the center of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Christmas lighting has been installed in some shrubbery. The lights are on green wires, so mostly blend in with the shrubbery during the day.
We only saw lights on the shrubbery in this fenced-off area between the park’s center and The Hollywood Brown Derby, which will become a sing-along jazz lounge during Disney Jollywood Nights.
Later, green and red gift-wrapped presents were added to this area.
And a trio of figures wearing candy cane-inspired dresses.
Sunset Boulevard Decorations
Wreaths are up on either side of the Beverly Sunset Shop doors.
The wreaths are made of silver tinsel, green and gold tulle, and colorful ornaments. In the center are retro “Happy Holidays” images. This one features a snowman.
And this one features a candy cane.
Garlands and wreaths are on the Disney Vacation Club kiosk.
They are embellished with baubles, red bows, and letters addressed to Santa.
Anaheim Produce has also decorated for the holidays.
These silver garlands and wreaths are adorned with red berry-like bows.
Garland hangs from the Once Upon a Time marquee.
