If you’re hoping to expand your Disney Lorcana collection with tomorrow’s launch of Rise of the Floodborn product on Amazon, you’ll have to join a virtual queue to do so!
Amazon to Require Virtual Queue for Disney Lorcana Purchases
Disney fans may be used to using virtual queues to ride their favorite attractions at the Disney Parks, but now they’ll be stepping into a virtual queue for a whole new reason.
For the drop of the second Disney Lorcana trading card game (TCG) set, Rise of the Floodborn, anyone interested in purchasing will have to enter a virtual queue on Amazon’s Ravensburger page. The products available will be the Rise of the Floodborn Starter Decks Amber/Sapphire and Amethyst/Steel, and Booster Display Boxes. There is a purchase limit of two per product.
Here’s how you can get your hands on the goods:
- On December 1 at 9 a.m. PST/ 12 p.m. EST, sign up for the virtual queue on Amazon’s Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn page. You will be put in a lottery system to be randomly selected.
- After the queue is closed, wait for an email invitation to confirm the items you’d like to purchase. You’ll have 72 hours to do so.
- If you do not make your purchase in the 72-hour window, your spot will be given to a randomly selected person.
- After you make a purchase, wait for Amazon to communicate when your item(s) will be ready to ship.
This is the first time Amazon has created a virtual queue for a board game, trading card game, or toy. The queue has been put in place to ensure a fair and smooth opportunity for fans to make purchases. It is the same queue system that was used when the PlayStation 5 was released in 2020.
This news follows the recent DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack on Ravensburger’s official Disney Lorcana website when pre-sales first launched for Rise of the Floodborn product. The attack caused a major delay for the pre-sale release.
