After being closed for over two weeks for refurbishment, Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland has reopened with several “A Goofy Movie”-inspired updates.

Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard Updates

Guests can enter Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard, Goofy’s House, and Donald’s Duck Pond through this archway.

The most significant changes to the space have been at Bigfoot Lookout, which is a raised boardwalk and treehouse at the back of the yard, past the rainbow slides.

Some of the Bigfoot signage already existed, which you can see in our original Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard tour from the reopening of Mickey’s Toontown in March.

Earlier in the refurbishment, we noticed the Powerline tarp draped over the top of the treehouse.

It’s purple with retro designs and an image of Powerline in the center.

There’s also a Powerline figure attached to a golf club mechanism, evidently to act as a weathervane, on top of the treehouse.

Guests can get up to the treehouse via a net or a regular ramp.

This previously plain fencing has been painted with various names and words, and now displays different characters’ shields for protection against Bigfoot. Max’s features the Powerline atom symbol. The other shields, which are made out of trash can lids or similar found objects, are painted by Pete’s son P.J., Gosalyn and Lena from “DuckTales,” and “Millie” — which could refer to a few different minor characters in the Goofy-verse. The shields spin for extra fun.

There is a painting of Bigfoot on the treehouse pointing out some of his most prominent features, like “Big feet!!” and “furry,” to help guests identify him.

There’s a literal wind sock attached to a golf club.

Inside the treehouse, Goofy and Max have used a record as part of the home-made structure.

The record is for Mickey and Minnie’s “Nothing Can Stop Us Now,” the theme song of the nearby Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

There’s a homemade map of Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard and Donald’s Duck Pond, with Bigfoot prints circled.

At the end of the nearby boardwalk is another new interactive element — “The Perfect Cast.”

“The Perfect Cast” is Goofy’s fine-tuned fishing method that he later turns into a popular dance move.

A fishing rod with a steak attached to the hook hangs over the railing of the boardwalk. Guests can reel the steak up and down, trying to lure Bigfoot.

A few other props have also been added to this spot, like boxes and cans.

Goofy has a list of “bait Ideaz” with many crossed out and “?steak??” circled. The props on the edge of the railing are the failed bait.

This area was empty prior to the refurbishment.

There’s a new viewfinder for kids to look for Bigfoot through.

Back near Goofy’s house, there is a new planter of giant interactive fruit.
