World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland has officially opened to the public, including a new interactive show in Anna and Elsa’s “Playhouse in the Woods,” which the sisters have reopened to celebrate Summer Snow Day with guests.
Playhouse in the Woods
Welcome to Playhouse in the Woods
When Anna and Elsa were children, their parents built this forest hideaway. They created this safe retreat so that Elsa could play and practice her ice magic without fear of being caught by the castle servants.
Now that all citizens have opened their hearts to Elsa and her powers, she has unlocked the doors to her Playhouse in the Woods for you to enjoy this momentous Summer Snow Day.
When guests arrive at the playhouse, they are immediately welcomed by Anna, who is in her traveling outfit from “Frozen II.”
Olaf appears as a puppet figure on the forest stage. Anna and Elsa use the stage but also move throughout the audience during the show.
First, Anna and Olaf welcome guests to Summer Snow Day, which is a day to celebrate family, friends, and community.
In order to call Elsa, Anna leads the guests in singing her favorite song, which their mother taught them as children. Elsa arrives through some icy mist, wearing her “Fifth Spirit” outfit from the end of “Frozen II.”
Elsa praises Anna’s restoration of the playhouse and says hello to all their new friends.
Anna shows off the sculptures in the playhouse, which were commissioned from Arendelle’s greatest artisans.
Each sculpture represents a different spirit of the forest — like this one of The Nokk that Elsa rides.
There are four different versions of the interactive show, each one activating a different sculpture and spirit.
Anna and Elsa ask guests to choose a spirit.
The sisters and Cast Members help guests gather at the sides of the room, around the sculptures.
They talk about how guests connect to each sculpture.
During our show, they decided to summon the air spirit and Elsa showed guests how to move their arms like wind.
Elsa created a streak of snow that ran along the wall and combined with leaves in the wind around Olaf, moving him around. The ice and air then continued around the walls of the room thanks to magical effects.
The sisters give another speech about the importance of their bond and the bond between Arendelle and the Enchanted Forest.
To end the show, Elsa gives another demonstration of her ice powers, set to the music of “Show Yourself” (she doesn’t sing).
Elsa creates icicles on the trees and sends waves of ice along the walls.
The show is about 10 minutes. Watch our video below.
