While Universal Studios Japan has previously offered special menu items upon request to accommodate different diets, they now offer permanent plant-based menu items at six park restaurants. The new menus debuted on Monday, November 6, 2023.
Plant-Based Menus at Universal Studios Japan
While six restaurants will launch this initiative, Universal Studios Japan plans to gradually expand their plant-based menu offerings to other restaurants throughout 2024. The plant-based menu items have no ingredients derived from animals such as meat, seafood, eggs, dairy, or honey, including secondary raw materials like food additives.
In addition to four meals that have been previously offered, there are two entirely new meals.
Plant-based items will be identified on menus with a green icon, both at the restaurants and on the Universal Studios Japan website.
Chef Takayuki Kataoka of the food services department said (translated to English), “At the park, we welcome guests from all around the world every day. As a result, it’s essential for us to continually expand our menu offerings to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our guests. This is why we have decided to introduce ‘Plant-Based Menus.’ While we have been accommodating guests with dietary considerations by providing special menus upon request in the past, we understand that there have been moments of inconvenience, such as not knowing about these options or having to inquire specifically.”

Chickpea Croquette with Tomato Salsa (Finnegan’s Bar & Grill)
Mixed Berry Salad (Beverly Hills Bravery)
Yoshi’s Favorite Fruit and Vegetable Salad (Toadstool Café)
Grilled Salad & Fruit Cocktail (Parkside Grill)
Vegetable Marinara (Azure Di Capri)
Vegetable Plate (Three Broomsticks™)
