The winter holidays are in full swing at Walt Disney World Resort, and we stopped to try a new sweet treat at Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: a Peppermint Igloo.

The peppermint igloo is available with a cute snowman sugar candy attached. They’re quick to dissolve with the slightest bit of moisture since they’re just made of sugar, so even some of the ones in the case had already fallen victim to a little melting.

We picked up this one with a red-scarfed snowman. The snowman started to melt immediately after we took it out of the cold case, but it was still a fun effect.

Inside, the layers of the dessert are clearly defined.

The peppermint igloo from Roaring Fork is not only adorable; it’s the most delicious Disney treat we’ve had in some time. Our reviewer loves peppermint, so this was the perfect treat.

The cake is made with peppermint, mousse, white chocolate, and a brownie base, which is a perfect Christmas cocktail of a treat to put you in the holiday mood.

The cake is very soft, and the peppermint mouse melts away as it enters your mouth. It’s an excellent balance of textures. We thought the whole dessert was reminiscent of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

This peppermint igloo is definitely for you if you like mint ice cream and are looking for a holiday treat that isn’t overly filling or sweet. You may want to pass on it if you’re not a fan of peppermint.
