Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland is offering special food items in honor of Life Day, including the Kashyyyk Cake at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. Guests can also get the Life Day spork from Docking Bay 7.
Life Day, which originates with the infamous “Star Wars Holiday Special,” is celebrated on November 17 each year. It’s technically a Wookiee holiday but has spread across the galaxy to be celebrated by various species and cultures. Batuu gets in on the celebrations each winter with things like food and Magic Shots.
Kashyyyk Cake – $7.99
This is not the traditional Kashyyyk Seven Layer Cake typically served for Life Day, which is more like Baumkuchen — although it is named after Kashyyyk, the planet from which Life Day celebrations originate.
It’s a delightful dessert. There is a heavy layer of chocolate cake on the bottom that is almost like a brownie.
On top of the cake is a chocolate mousse and vanilla cream, plus raspberry compote in the middle. It’s a dessert-lovers dream.
The taste is a 10/10 and the aesthetics are 20/10. It’s not super obvious in the photos, but the inside of the cake is glittery.
Life Day Spork – $10.99
The Life Day spork comes in a red velvet bag with a golden drawstring.
Golden letters on the bag read “Happy Life Day” in English and “family, joy, harmony” — the tenets of LIfe Day — in Aurebesh.
The spork resembles the classic Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that was frequently stolen before being discontinued and then offered for sale, but with “Happy Life Day” on the handle.
The Life Day spork is limited to two per person, per transaction.
These and other Life Day food offerings are available through January 9, 2024.
