VIDEO: Tom’s Honest Review and Rant About Reactions to Disney Jollywood Nights

The Disney fan community is up in arms about Disney Jollywood Nights, the new Disney’s Hollywood Studios after-hours holiday event. WDWNT’s own Tom Corless was initially hesitant to review the event, given that he was busy reporting on it and not able to experience everything, but after the overall reaction, Tom has shared his honest review and rant.

Honest Review of Disney Jollywood Nights

Tom and several of our reporters attended the first night of Disney Jollywood Nights — on WDWNT’s (i.e. Tom’s) dime, not via Disney invites. Disney Jollywood Nights has seen a unique reaction from hosted media who, for once, said they don’t like something Disney gave them free tickets to. But for Tom’s part, as someone who paid for the event and always pays to attend these kinds of events, the night didn’t go as horribly as everyone else would have you believe.

For example, there were complaints about the line for the Gertie cookie. But Tom only waited about 4 1/2 minutes, once to get the cookie and once to get the cookie with ice cream. Tom also walked into the final performance of Disney Holidays in Hollywood without waiting in line. He experienced both the Twilight Soiree at the Tip-Top Club and Jazzy Holidays at the Hollywood Brown Derby.

Did things go wrong? Sure. There were operational problems and issues with influencers skipping lines. There is also a conversation to be had about the value of Disney Jollywood Nights. But it wasn’t necessarily the disaster some are advertising.

Hear all of Tom’s thoughts in the video below.
