We broke the news of the lamppost incident this morning and confirmed that at least two guests were injured at the time. The lamppost, which held stage lighting for parades, fell in the town square on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland. We witnessed at least one guest being taken from the scene on a stretcher and another with a bandaged head.

High wind warnings are in effect throughout Southern California, with gusts up to 90 miles per hour reported near Los Angeles.

Disneyland officials are investigating similar lighting fixtures at Disneyland. The initial lamppost has been removed from the scene, but the area was still blocked off this afternoon.

Deadline reported that one of the guests injured was taken to an area hospital to be treated for serious injuries, and the other two guests were treated at the scene and released.
