When you cut into the cake, you can see the textureof each of the components to the treat.\
We thought that the holiday cranberry frangipane cake was one of the most refreshing of the holiday desserts we’ve tried. This is a small single person serving, which is hard to find. The almond cake itself tastes reminded us of home grown holiday flavors, and the cranberry-cherry combo in the gel is bright, light, and refreshing in the warmer Florida winter. The white chocolate mouse is a warm flavor compliment to the cranberry and cherry gel.
We didn’t taste the salted honey in the whipped topping, so the flavoring is very subtle. The cranberry pieces on top are a fun surge of cranberry and make those bites that have the gel cubes extra fruity and less almond and chocolate. Each bite and there’s only like four are a little different depending on what you got the bite. Some are more cake heavy others have more of that cranberry cherry punch. The wreath is sugar paste and was a fun small crunch on top. We thought this was a well done treat.
People who don’t enjoy cranberry or cherry should skip this treat, since that is a heavy part of the flavor profile. Also, if you’re hoping for a large or shareable dessert, this one is going to leave you wanting more.
We give this one 8.7/10. It’s the best of holiday desserts and feels fancy, which is always a welcome treat when you’re staying in the deluxe resorts.
