The light-up circuit-inspired walls in the TRON Lightcycle Run queue at Magic Kingdom have returned after being replaced by plain black walls in October.

The walls surround guests immediately upon entering the show building, after passing the giant digitizer that transports you into The Grid, and before reaching the pre-show area. The lines of circuits on the walls pulse and flash blue as guests are “digitized.”

When the walls were covered a few months ago, a Cast Member told us it was so crews could work on the lights.

We recently noticed significant filth buildup on the exterior of the attraction which has not yet been cleaned.

TRON Lightcycle Run opened at Magic Kingdom less than a year ago in April 2023. It’s a clone of the Shanghai Disneyland attraction that opened alongside that park on June 16, 2016. The Shanghai Disneyland roller coaster was installed in lieu of a version of Space Mountain. The Magic Kingdom version was constructed next to Space Mountain.

The queue, canopy area, and attraction itself all take inspiration from the 1982 film “TRON” and its 2010 sequel, “TRON Legacy.” A third film starring Jared Leto has been in the works for years, with development finally moving forward in 2020. “TRON: Ares” is written by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. Joachim Rønning will direct. Evan Peters joined the cast this summer.
