Through September 1, 2024, Tokyo Disney Resort is presenting “Enjoy the ride! Resort Liner,” an exhibit dedicated to the Disney Resort Line inside Resort Gateway Station.
Enjoy the ride! Resort Liner
The exhibit features a real Disney Resort Line train that was previously in use.
The sign reads:
Enjoy the ride! Resort Liner
The Disney Resort Line opened on July 27, 2001 as a monorail connecting major destinations at Tokyo Disney Resort, and has welcomed more than 400 million Guests.
The train currently on display is a “Resort Liner (Type X)” but since July 2020 a new “Resort Liner (Type C)” train has also been added to the Disney Resort Line. By January 2024, the “Resort Liner (Type C)” will have five color variations: yellow, pink, blue, purple, and green.
The interior of the Resort Liner trains feature motifs of Mickey Mouse on the windows, hand straps, and seats, along with familiar Disney music, and Guests on board are filled with excitement and anticipation as their dreamlike day at Tokyo Disney Resort begins.
At this special exhibit, “Enjoy the ride! Resort Liner,” you can take a trip down memory lane as you view panels themed to past Park events and take a close look at a “Resort Liner (Type X)” train that was previously in use. You can also enjoy taking photos in the driver’s seat of a “Resort Liner (Type X)” train and in a “Photo Spot.”
The Disney Resort Line will continue to accompany Guests as they embark on their magical day here at Tokyo Disney Resort.
The Type C trains began replacing the Type X trains in mid-2020 but have retained some of the details, like Mickey-shaped windows and hand straps.
For the exhibit, the windows are covered with panels so it looks like you are riding the train to Tokyo Disney Resort.
The benches on this train are gray with a speckled design featuring red, yellow, and black dots representing Mickey’s color scheme.
Guests can take photos in the driver’s seat and view the train’s controls.
A special photo wall features Mickey hand straps, photos of Tokyo Disney Resort out the fake windows, and an image of the red, yellow, and black Mickey-inspired Type C benches. This summer, Tokyo Disney Resort began selling keychains that look like the Mickey hand straps.
There is also a wall of photos of Disney Resort Line trains from over the years, including different themed wraps.
The Disney Resort Line runs from JR Maihama Station to stations around the two Tokyo Disney Resort theme parks.
