Though the rest of World Celebration at EPCOT is now open, CommuniCore Hall and Plaza remain under construction. Disney has not announced an opening timeframe for CommuniCore other than 2024.
CommuniCore Hall
CommuniCore Hall is set to include a permanent Mickey & Friends meet and greet space, demo kitchen, gallery (pictured in the above concept art), and mixology bar. CommuniCore Plaza will have a stage for live performances.
CommuniCore Hall Construction
New plywood paneling has been installed along one wall of CommuniCore Hall facing World Nature.
The plywood doesn’t quite cover the entire wall. There are some rectangular gaps, suggesting different paneling may be installed in those spots.
The plywood covers the wall’s steel framework and is behind scaffolding.
Some of the building is covered in white paneling.
One section features Spaceship Earth-inspired triangular panels. Some of them are set up like three-dimensional pyramids, while others are flat. This part of the building is lined with black blocks.
There are colorful accents on some of the pyramids. Four panels in this image feature a light ombre of forest green.
A panel at the center of this photo is more of an emerald green. Concept art (below) suggests the colorful panels will create a rainbow through the white panels.
This part of the building will be the entrance to the Mickey & Friends meet and greet. Currently, Mickey and Minnie meet in their Disney100 outfits at the Imagination! Pavilion. Minnie also sometimes meets near the park entrance, as does Goofy. Daisy Duck and Pluto now appear behind Spaceship Earth in World Celebration, and Donald Duck meets guests by the Mexico Pavilion.
Before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic caused construction delays, Disney had planned a festival pavilion for this area instead of CommuniCore Hall.
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza are named after the CommuniCore pavilions that were part of EPCOT on opening day. The CommuniCore pavilions were later renamed Innoventions. Innoventions West was demolished to make way for Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” and the festival pavilion. Innoventions East and Electric Umbrella became Connections Café and Eatery.
